ESD Testing
ElectroStatic Discharge, ESD, is well known in dry climates when people feel a shock as they turn on lights or touch certain appliances. It is also a source of significant reliability problems in electronic products, especially products with high-density electronic components like processors and memory chips.
ESD can cause temporary problems such as changing the settings on a device, and can also cause permanent damage to some components by destroying electrical traces or semiconductor structures.
