DVT / EVT

Design Verification Testing (DVT)

After prototyping, the product is moved to the next phase of the design cycle: Design Refinement. Engineers revise and improve the design to meet performance and design requirements and specifications. Design Verification Testing is performed to deliver objective, comprehensive testing verifying all product specifications, interface standards, OEM requirements, and diagnostic commands.

Percept's thorough, objective DVT methodology delivers objective, comprehensive testing to verify all product specifications, interface standards, OEM requirements, and diagnostic commands.

DVT is an intensive testing program consisting of five areas of testing:
  • Functional Testing (including usability)
  • Performance Testing
  • Climatic Testing
  • Reliability Testing
  • Compliance Testing
Process (or Pilot) Verification Test (PVT)
  • Subset of Design Verification Tests (DVT)
  • Performed on pre-production or production units
  • Verifies design has been correctly implemented into production

Engineering Verification Testing (EVT)

Identifying design problems and solving them as early in the design cycle as possible, is key to keeping your project on time and within budget. Too often, product design and performance problems are not detected until late in the product development cycle — when you're getting ready to ship your product. The old adage holds true: Its costs a penny to make a change in engineering, a dime in production and a dollar after a product is in the field.

In the Prototyping stage, engineers create actual working samples of the product they plan to produce. Engineering Verification Testing (EVT) is used on prototypes to verify that the design meets pre-determined specifications and design goals. This valuable information is used to validate the design as is, or identify areas that need to be modified.

Percept's proven EVT testing process helps clients to quickly identify and resolve design issues early in the design cycle, improving future product performance while saving time and money.

EVT:
  • Consists of basic functional tests, parametric measurements, specification verification
  • Is performed on first engineering prototypes
  • Ensures basic unit performance to design goals and specifications
